A New Mind

There is a powerful connection between how we think and how we live. We’re not always aware of those connections, but what we think about and how we think about it directs our actions and responses. The Bible draws a direct connection between spiritual transformation and the renewing of our minds. This means that how we think and what we think about are central to living as followers of Jesus.

Discussion Questions

How has your mind been affected by the last few months? How has your thinking affected the rest of your life?

Read Romans 8:5-7. To whom is Paul writing? What does it mean to have a mindset on the flesh? What does it mean to have a mindset on the Spirit?

Romans 12:2 talks about our being transformed by the renewing of our minds. What is one way that you have experienced transformation in your spiritual life? How did renewing your mind play a part? What changed in your thinking and perceptions?

How has testing or struggle produced knowledge of God’s will in your life?
