For God So Loved

“Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”

1 John 4:11

OBSERVATION

“Since God so loved us, we also ought to love..”. We love because God loved first. He loved his creation so much that He sent His one and only son to die for it. To die for us. God calls us to LOVE one another. I get it though, that’s a lot easier said than done but it’s so important. Loving the ones who have wronged you is so hard but God still loves them. Loving the ones who have caused your friends pain is hard but God still loves them. His love extends to ALL!!

APPLICATION

Love is such a loaded word for me. It means something real. When you tell someone that you love them it’s a BIG deal. When I think about God’s love for me it’s hard for my brain to process it. He loved me so much that He chose to give up the one thing He had for me. For a sinner who would turn her back on Him time and time again, and He calls me to love others the same way.. like WHAT?! God wants me to love EVERYONE? Like even the ones who have hurt me? YES! It’s hard to love and show grace to those who have wronged you or the people that you cared about, but think about the change that can come from choosing to love. Choosing to be gracious even when the other person doesn’t deserve it. That is what God does for me and you!! There is power in choosing to love one another.

PrayER

God,

Thank you for your love. Thank you for sending your son to die for me. God help me to love the people around me just how you love me. Help me to be gracious and patient. Help me choose to love even when anger and frustration take over. Convict me in the moments where I am not loving and teach me to be more like you. Amen.

Love Thy Neighbor

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your should and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these."  Mark 12:30-31 OBSERVATION God instructs his people...
