Confessing Your Sins

God’s redemptive plan for humanity involves the death of Jesus for the sins of everyone. But we enjoy God’s forgiveness only when we believe what Jesus did for us. Have you noticed, even Christians still sin? Confessing or admitting our daily sin keeps our...

Nothing Like Family

Nothing Like Family

As the family goes, so goes the culture. The idea of family is deeply rooted in our lives. We were born for family; it’s in our blood. And the idea of family is rooted in the heart of God. It’s more than an illustration. Family is a reality for anyone related to God....

A Healthy Body

A Healthy Body

We are the Church. The Church is the Body Christ. When this Body is healthy, God uses us to change history. That happens with the Body is mobilized by love. The world sees the hope they are searching for when we reach out to them in love. However, if we give in to...

Enough – Easter 2020

Enough – Easter 2020

The last week of Jesus’ life began with a parade of celebration and hope. He would be dead by the end of that week. What happened? Even in darkness, God is at work; it just doesn’t feel like it sometimes. And even though there is no darkness in God, He’s never opposed...

Kept for Jesus Christ

For the past few weeks, I’ve been doing a Bible study on the book of Jude. In this short book towards the end of the Bible, Jude, the brother of Jesus, addresses the recipients of his letter as “those who are called, beloved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ.” Throughout the book, the idea of believers being kept by Jesus Christ is repeated often.

Celebrate Recovery Aug. 6

There's a story in Daniel, chapter 3, about three young boys, Sadrach, Meshach, and Abednigo, who are thrown into a fiery furnace for daring to honor God by not bowing to a golden image.  But there was another in that fire with them.  Many believe it was God Himself,...

Setting Healthy Boundaries

True, you will not find the words “personal boundary” in the Bible. But the Bible does discuss personal boundaries in principle. In fact, each time the Bible talks about areas of your life that you are solely responsible for, or instructs that you say “yes” to something good and “no” to something bad, or when the Bible reminds us that our true identity in Christ is separate than our identity in the world – this is touching on the importance of personal boundaries. Personal boundaries are what define our identity. Imagine them as property boundaries around your home. They exist so that we have a safe space that is clearly designated: this is who I am, what I value, what I need, what I believe, what I feel.

God’s Gift To Us

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not of your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”  Ephesians 2:8 OBSERVATION No one ever works to get a gift. Doing chores might get us an allowance and we might...
