Kids Experience July 5

God's love for us is a gift.God’s love for us is a gift. It’s not something we could ever earn. It isn’t based on anything WE’VE done. It’s all about what HE’S done for us!  This is why God sent Jesus. This is why Jesus died on the cross. When we put our faith in...

All We Need

All We Need

All We Need For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ...

April 19 Experience

April 19 Experience

Jesus is the example.Jesus is the very BEST example of humility. He gave up everything to come to earth and save us!  After Jesus died and came to life again, people talked about what He did. They talked about the way He treated people—with love and compassion. They...

Imitators

You know what God has been teaching me? His main desire for my life is not that I am healthy, happy or comfortable. And dare I say it… it’s not even for Him to answer my prayer and fix my situation. His main desire is that my character would be more like Christ.

A Love Letter

Two truths stuck out to me as I read the following verses:

1) God loves us more than we can comprehend.

2) We are called to love others, and He longs to help us do that.

Lovingkindness and Truth

If you picture it as a scale, the two sides of lovingkindness and truth are always perfectly balanced. Lovingkindness paired with truth is how God relates to us. He loves us too much to allow us to live in the lie of sin. He knows that truth brings freedom and will always invite us to live in that freedom, but He does it with profound love and compassion.

Fooled by an Impostor

On the corner of the counter in my grandmother’s kitchen was a large basket filled with fruit. It looked beautiful and very tasty, especially the bunch of perfect-looking grapes. There were two bunches; one light purple and another larger bunch of green. They were ready, just waiting for me to eat.

Wisdom Literature

The term “Wisdom Literature” acts as a large umbrella covering a wide scope of writings found in the Bible. It includes prayers, songs, proverbs, stories, romance, philosophy and lament. Some of these works deal with great universal questions of meaning and purpose...

Things Happen When We Love

One of the last things Jesus told his disciples was that they should love one another the way he loved them. It sounds really good, and it is. But how did Jesus love his disciples, and what does that mean for how we love others? Great things happen when we love....

Things Happen When We Give

It seems like money is an obsession in our culture. Whether it’s lottery winners or superstars with giant contracts, many people are fascinated by those who “have it all.” Our view of money says a lot about us. And God’s view of money says a lot about God. While money...

The Father

In Jesus’ story of two lost and wasteful sons there is a character is who far more wasteful and who willingly loses whatever is necessary – the Father. In response to the rejection and rebellion of his sons, the father answers with extravagant self-sacrificing love for each of them. He is a father like no other. This is the father Jesus came to show us. He is the father we have always needed, the father in whom we are meant to find ourselves.
