Trusting God Through Transitions
Moving from one season of life into the next may cause us to face certain challenges. Successfully transitioning through those challenging conditions or situations involves trusting that God is always with us and is moving us forward even when it doesn’t feel like it. As He does with the Israelites through Ezekiel, God gives us His word that He will care for us in our next season just as He’s done in previous seasons.
Think about the time(s) God moved you into a new season of life. What were some of the ways in which God prepared you for your transition? Who were your encouragers? How did you handle any challenges this move presented?
Have you ever allowed the weight, pain, or guilt of a challenging situation to cause you to doubt God’s desire to transition you out of it? Were you able to overcome your doubt and trust God in your transition? If so, consider how you would encourage someone who is struggling with trusting God by sharing your story.
While it’s sometimes best for God to remove us from problematic places, v.25 teaches us that there are times when God will instead bring us peace by removing our problems. Have you experienced this? How would you describe the peace God provided?
How has trusting God through your seasonal transitions strengthened your relationship with Jesus? Has it helped you to better handle the changes associated with transitions? How has it equipped you to encourage others to trust God and better handle changes?
Consider reading these verses when facing life’s transitions and changes: Joshua 1:9; Ecclesiastes 3:1; Jeremiah 29:11; Philippians 4:6-7; Hebrews 13:8
