Your Old and New Natures

Have you ever felt unprepared? You’ve probably had a time in your life when you were not prepared at all for what was about to happen. As our flesh constantly fights to lead us further away from God, it’s easy for us to feel unprepared for life. But God prepares us by giving us exactly what we need: Himself! He equips us with His Holy Spirit. In this message, we’ll see that when we surrender to His Spirit, God grows us to be more like Him.

Read Galatians 5:16-18. How have you experienced the opposition of the flesh and the Spirit? Have you ever felt like it’s hard to do the things you want to do?

Read Galatians 5:19-21. What works of the flesh do you see as evident in your life? What would it look like for you to submit these areas to the leading of the Holy Spirit?

Read Galatians 5:22-23. What fruit of the Spirit do you see as evident in your life? How can you continue to grow in Christlikeness in these areas?

Read Galatians 5:24. What would need to look different in your life to crucify your flesh with its passions and desires?
