Welcome to week 1 of our study in 1st Corinthians! In part 1 of 7, we’ll be looking at Paul’s introduction in Chapters 1 and 2. In his introduction, Paul begins with a grace-oriented greeting and then moves into the main idea for the content of his letter: Christ! Paul’s introduction compares the wisdom of God to that of the world; specifically through the lens of the cross. He begins to mention some of the issues he has heard about that are causing serious problems within the church and he begins to address these problems within the larger context of who Jesus is and what he has done.
